Brief Excert:

There are many email clients out there. Wouldn’t be nice to centralise all your emails in one place using your own email address by using GMAIL.

There are many email clients out there like Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird etc.

Wouldn’t be nice to centralise all your emails in one place using your own email address by using GMAIL one of the worlds most popular email platforms.
Gmail allows a generous 15GB of Space
Gmail allows you to do this using your domain email A/C and here is how:-

Step One

First of all you must have a GMAIL account.
If you don’t have one you can use this link – Create a Google Account

Step Two

Go to GMAIL settings and select Accounts and Import

gmail_one

Step Three

Locate the option to add another email address that you own
Click on ‘Add a POP3 mail account you own

gmail_02

Step Four

A popup box will display – enter the full email address that you own example mike@sample.co.nz (replace with your email address)
Click on Next Step

gmail03

Step Five

Enter your full email address as the username
The mail server will be mail.yourdomain.co.nz

Click here for more info - Port 110/995

You can use  Port 110 or a secure port 995 for retrieving your emails.

Click here for more info - Leave a copy of retrieved emails on the server

You have two options here:-

  • You can choose to leave emails on the server
  • You can clear the emails off the server.

If you are using GMAIL as your main email client then check this box to remove the emails off the server.
If you are using GMAIL a secondary method of reading and sending emails then leave the emails on the server.

Our recommendation is to use GMAIL as your main email client and remove the emails off the server.

You can assign a label with Gmail – if you don’t know just ignore this

Click here for more info - POP Settings

User Name – you full email address e.g mike@nzservers.com
Password – You will have
POP Server – mail.yourdomain.co.nz (replace yourdomain.co.nz with your own domain)
Port – 110
Leave a copy of retrieved messages (see article above)
Always use a secure connection – Tick if you use ports  995 (pop3)

Click Add Account

gmail06

UPDATE – you can now use

Old Server secure2.nzhost.net.nz New Server sv5.nzhost.net.nz
(If your domain has been migrated across and for any reason you can’t connect to sv5.nzhost.net it may be because nzhost.net.nz has not been migrated over. If this happens please use an insecure port 110 until nzhost.net.nz has been migrated)

Note: Using secure2.nzhost.net.nz will be removed on the new server
You can now use 995 (pop3) as we have attached our secure certificate from secure2.nzhost.net.nz to the email services.
If you use SSL by using port 995 please check the Always use a secure connection (SSL) option

Step Six

You should receive this message

Click here for more info - Sending Emails from our server

This step allows you to send email through our SMTP server
Choose Yes for this option and click next

gmail07

Step Seven

Select Next Step Notcheckhceck alias

(recommend 465 if you choose this tick the secure connection SSL)

Once you have done this click Add Account
Please note GMAIL will send a verification notice to your email address.
We suggest that you have your existing email A/C open or use webmail to do this

gmail09

This depends on how you use GMAIL.
For myself most of my emails are sent through my domain email being mike@nzservers.com
I have setup the the option to reply from the default email address.
If you use your GMAIL privately using your GMAIL A/C then use Reply from the same address the message was sent to

gmail13

While you are still under GMAIL settings click the General tab and assign the signature you want depending on what email address you send from
